OUR MISSION
The mission of the Anderson County Flywheelers is to cultivate a passion for agricultural history and foster a welcoming environment where members can connect over their shared enthusiasm for antique farm machinery, engaging both fellow collectors and the public at large. We are dedicated to preserving the legacy of agriculture by sharing these interests, particularly with younger generations, ensuring that this vital aspect of our heritage endures for the future.
The Anderson County Flywheelers is dedicated to celebrating and preserving our agricultural and industrial heritage. Our purpose is to:
1. Encourage the collection, restoration, and preservation of historical machinery, including:
· Gas and steam tractors
· Stationary engines (both gas and steam-powered)
· Antique farm equipment
· Early local industrial machinery
2. Host and organize events showcasing exhibitions and demonstrations of these restored machines, showcasing their historical significance and operational capabilities.
3. Educate the public about the crucial role these tools and machines have played in advancing human productivity and quality of life.
4. Highlight how innovations in agriculture and industry have allowed humanity to progress beyond mere subsistence, enabling the pursuit of intellectual and cultural endeavors.
